"The cold never bothered me anyway"
The GIST: If you can believe it, the second round of the NHL playoffs is almost over. The Carolina “Bunch of Jerks” Hurricanes swept (won four-straight games) the NY Islanders; the Boston Bruins are up 3-2 over the Columbus Blue Jackets; the San Jose Sharks are up 3-2 over the Colorado Avalanche; and the Dallas Stars and the St. Louis Blues are tied at 3 games apiece.
That means: At least two of the four teams moving on to the Conference Finals were wild cards (the final two teams in each conference to make the playoffs). We definitely didn’t expect that.
In other hockey news: The Ottawa 67’s are up two games to none over the Guelph Storm in the OHL Championships. Thatta be, boys! Game 3 is in Guelph tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
But there is some bad news. Unfortunately, Ottawa’s goaltender, Mikey DiPietro, suffered a first-degree high ankle sprain on Saturday night and is listed as unlikely for the next couple of games in Guelph.
